The product instructions specify over-temperature protection, but a loose socket or poor ventilation can create heat outside its sensing point.
Electrical principle
The 12V side carries higher current.
At equal power, the low-voltage input carries more current than the 30V cable. Check the vehicle socket and plug, not only the adapter body.
